Our Dragons programme is great for developing basic martial arts skills while balancing confidence and respect. As well as the development of physical skills, students will also take part in our own character development programme.
The Junior Taekwondo classes will expand your children's physical skills at the same time as introducing them to a full Olympic Taekwondo syllabus. Our aim is to get you child to black belt around the time they move up to High School.
Training classes for families are rare though at the Warrior Factory we have them almost every day. These classes provide an ideal environment for your family to develop and train together in the same class. We even have a family discount scheme to help with the cost of training.
Adults have the choice of Taekwondo and Ju Jitsu. These classes are great for fitness, self defence or those of you just wanting to try something different and exciting. Our instructors are friendly and make it as easy as possible for you to jump in a class and have a go.
There is an upcoming sparring day and it will be held on the 26th April by
Premier Taekwondo at their venue in Birkby, Huddersfield. The cost will be £10
for three hours and will run from 2pm - 5pm.
If you are interested in taking part, please let Jessica know asap as spaces
are limited and the fee must be paid in advanced to reserve your place. Also,
all students taking part must have at least arm and leg guards, though head and
body protectors can be borrowed from the club.
Well done to all the Dragons and Taekwondo students that
graded over the past 3 weeks. We had some great performances from both young
and old. I was also pleased to see that those few that didn't manage to pass
the first time around came back with even more determination to have another
go. I know it is tough when you fail a grading but just remember ‘Nothing worth
having in this life comes easily’.
It is also worth remembering that not everyone makes it to
Black Belt. Work hard and make sure you are one of them. While I would not say
it is easy to get to black belt, I would say that most people are capable of getting
there with a little determination, commitment and effort.
On Sunday March 8th, several students from the Warrior
Factory Martial Arts Club, based in Hipperholme, raised money for Comic Relief
by taking part in a 5 mile sponsored cycle along spen valley greenway with
friends and family and raised a massive total of £553 for Comic Relief.
To follow this event, the Warrior factory will also be
holding a week long bake sale and a crazy hair week for the children to raise
even more money to add to the total.
All money raised from these events will be put together with
the money raised from the sponsored cycle and be sent to Comic Relief.
On the Competition front, warrior factory members, Chris
Cocker and Terri Lumb will be heading out to Holland one of the biggest
competitions in Europe, the Dutch open.
This competition will be attended by Olympians and other
world class athletes. This will be a great test before the British nationals in
