Olympic Taekwondo (TKD) at the Warrior Factory

Taekwondo martial arts classes

Practiced by over 60 million practitioners in 184 countries, Taekwondo is one of the most practiced martial arts in the world. Developed by the Korean’s in the 50s, Taekwondo is a modern dynamic martial art and Olympic sport.

Translating as the art of hand and foot, the particular style practiced at the Warrior Factory venues, is the Olympic or WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) style.

The name of the resident club at the Warrior Factory venues is Team Taekwondo. This club has members ranging from 6 to 60 and caters for people of all abilities. As well as classes for children we also run family classes.

Registered with the National Governing Body for Taekwondo in the UK (British Taekwondo), the club is well placed to help you progress towards your goals, what ever they may be.

As our head instructor is a Master grade, we carry out our own Kup (under black belt) gradings every three months but our students going for black belt and above are graded by the British Taekwondo's Martial Arts Technical Team (MATT). These gradings happen three times a year and each student successfully passing their grading receives a Kukkiwon certificate from the world Taekwondo head quarters in South Korea.

For those students interested in competing in sparring competitions, we have a small but focused Sport Taekwondo team. Our Taekwondo players range from novice students competing at a local level up to international players that regularly compete in 'G' class level championships around Europe.
